Dr. Hans grew up in Cleveland, OH. After receiving her undergraduate degree in political science from Brown University, she returned to the Midwest for medical school at Northeastern Ohio Medical University. She trained in general surgery at St. John Hospital. She completed her fellowship in colon and rectal surgery at Mount Carmel in Columbus, OH.
Dr. Hans often hears the question “What made you go into colon and rectal surgery?” One of her favorite things about the field is the opportunity for continuity of care in treating patients with inflammatory bowel disease and colorectal cancer. She also enjoys performing a variety of procedures, from office-based treatments to colonoscopies to anorectal and abdominal surgeries.
In her free time, Dr. Hans enjoys playing and watching sports, especially golf, soccer, and softball. She also loves trying new restaurants and traveling.
